Then name Miville originates from the latin phrase Media Villa, meaning ‘between places’. Imported with the Roman expansion across the Alps, the name is almost uniquely associated with the region comprising modern day Switzerland. Also called Meyville, and Mivillaz, the family rose to prominence during the 15^th and 16^th centuries.
